Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. §1. That the Secretary of Health and Human Resources shall convene a work group to (i) study the role of public safety answering points and regional Poison Control Centers in providing information and assistance to the public regarding opioid overdose and administration of naloxone or other opioid antagonist in emergency and nonemergency situations and (ii) develop recommendations for legislative or budgetary actions necessary to enhance the role of public safety answering points and regional Poison Control Centers in providing such information and assistance. The work group shall report its findings and recommendations to the Governor and the General Assembly by November 1, 2020.
