A BILL to direct the Department of Medical Assistance Services to seek the appropriate approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to create an income exemption for licensed providers of personal care assistance.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. § 1. That the Department of Medical Assistance Services shall seek the appropriate approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to create an income exemption for licensed providers of personal care assistance. Such income exemption shall permit providers of personal care assistance who are licensed and employed in the Commonwealth and maintain regular hours at their place of employment to obtain Medicaid coverage with a monthly income of up to $3,500.
