Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 54.1-3900.03 as follows:
§54.1-3900.03. Attorney fees; judgments, compensation, or monetary awards related to veterans.
A. No attorney shall charge, demand, receive, or collect for services rendered fees in excess of 10 percent of any judgment, compensation, or monetary award granted to a veteran or the family member of a veteran, or the legal representative of such individual, related to the veteran's service in the Armed Forces of the United States or the Virginia National Guard, including any judgment, compensation, or monetary award granted pursuant to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act of 2022, Pub. L. No. 117-168, §804.
B. An attorney who violates subsection A shall be fined not more than $5,000 and may be subject to disciplinary action by the Virginia State Bar.
