A BILL to amend and reenact §18.2-334 of the Code of
Virginia, relating to the prohibition against participation in games of chance;
exception for private clubs.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §18.2-334 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:
§18.2-334. Exception to article; private residences and private clubs.
Nothing in this article shall be construed to make it illegal to participate in a game of chance conducted in a private residence or private club, provided such private residence or private club is not commonly used for such games of chance and there is no operator as defined in subsection 4 of §18.2-325. For purposes of this section, "private club" means the same as that term is defined in § 15.2-2820.
