A BILL to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 29.1-302.01, relating to free hunting license for residents on active duty in the military.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia is amended by adding a section numbered 29.1-302.01 as follows:

§29.1-302.01. Special license for active duty military personnel.

Any resident who is on active duty military service may apply for and receive from the Department a nontransferable state resident hunting license required by subdivision 2 of § 29.1-303 to hunt on any property in the Commonwealth according to restrictions and regulations of law. The license shall be issued at no cost and shall be valid while the person remains on active military service.
