Commending Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach.

WHEREAS, Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach, a locally owned and operated franchise of the nationally acclaimed Voodoo Brewing Company, held its grand opening on January 13, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Voodoo Brewing Company was established in Meadville, Pennsylvania, in 2005 and opened its first taproom in 2012; since then, the company has expanded to locations throughout western and central Pennsylvania as well as Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Colorado, and Nevada; and

WHEREAS, Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach is owned by Alex and Chrissy Bergren, who fulfilled their longtime dream to open a bar when they presided over the grand opening of the first Voodoo Brewing Company franchise in the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, led by general manager Max Gutierrez, Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach offers 23 beers, seltzers, and ciders, along with cold brew coffee on tap and a full menu of handcrafted cocktails and delicious pub fare like burgers, wings, nachos, and pizza; and

WHEREAS, Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach is located near Virginia Beach Town Center, making it well suited to serve both local residents and visitors to the region; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach on the occasion of its grand opening in 2024; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Voodoo Brewing Company Virginia Beach as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its contributions to the vibrant local economy in Virginia Beach.
