WHEREAS, Brody Dawyot, quarterback of the Glenvar High School football team, was selected as the Virginia High School League Class 2 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024; and
WHEREAS, during his junior season in 2024, Brody Dawyot led the Glenvar High School Highlanders to a 12–2 record and a state semifinal appearance, amassing 3,667 yards of total offense, 49 passing touchdowns, and 12 rushing touchdowns; and
WHEREAS, in the Virginia High School League record books, Brody Dawyot ranks 18th overall in career passing yards with 7,012 and eighth overall in career passing touchdowns with 95; and
WHEREAS, accounting for rushing yards, Brody Dawyot ranks 11th in career total yardage with 8,654 yards and sixth overall with 129 passing and rushing touchdowns; and
WHEREAS, Brody Dawyot has inspired others through his hard work and perseverance, and his success on the football field is a reflection of Glenvar High School's commitment to excellence in and out the classroom; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend Brody Dawyot on his selection as the Virginia High School League Class 2 Offensive Player of the Year; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Brody Dawyot as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his exceptional athletic accomplishments.
