WHEREAS, the Frank W. Cox High School wrestling team of Virginia Beach won the Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship on February 17, 2024, at the Virginia Beach Sports Center; and
WHEREAS, the Cox High School Falcons posted 171 points to best the runner-up by 29 points and become the first Virginia High School League Beach District team to bring home a state championship title since 2010; and
WHEREAS, the Cox Falcons' victory was a total team effort, led by Seth Pringle, Caleb Rafal, and Rudy Wagner, who all triumphed over their opponents to secure individual state championship titles in their respective weight classes; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the Cox Falcons are the result of the hard work and dedication of the student-athletes, the leadership and guidance of their coaches and teachers, and the unwavering support of their families and the entire Frank W. Cox High School community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That the Frank W. Cox High School wrestling team hereby be commended for winning the 2024 Virginia High School League Class 5 state championship; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Frank W. Cox High School wrestling team as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the team's achievements.
