WHEREAS, for 138 years, New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church of Virginia Beach has provided its members with uplifting spiritual guidance, occasions of joyful worship, and opportunities for generous community outreach; and
WHEREAS, the mission of New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church is to worship and glorify God, promote the gospel of Jesus Christ, train and equip saints, and minister deliverance to the hurting and lost; and
WHEREAS, New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church is currently led by Pastor Eugene Cowan, who has provided sage counsel to the church's members while working tirelessly to ensure the church's prosperity and longevity; and
WHEREAS, for well over a century, New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church has been a spiritual home for the many individuals who have sought solace and a greater sense of purpose and belonging within its walls; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church hereby be commended as its congregation celebrates the church's 138th anniversary; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to New Light Full Gospel Baptist Church as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the church's history and its contributions to the Commonwealth.
