WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi, an English teacher at South County High School, was named the Fairfax County Public Schools Region 4 Outstanding Secondary School New Teacher for 2023; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi has worked tirelessly throughout her first year of teaching and contributed to South County High School's vision of creating a learning environment in which all students will have the opportunity to discover their passions in and out of the classroom and have the support they need to succeed; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi has cultivated mutual respect among her students to support their academic, social, and emotional well-being and ensure they feel comfortable expressing their ideas; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi engages her students with thought-provoking questions that encourage them to reflect, analyze, and grow and mature both academically and personally; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi actively collaborates with her colleagues and has developed many meaningful and productive professional relationships throughout South County High School that enhance the school's overall success; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi contributes to the South County High School community beyond the classroom as one of the school's lacrosse coaches, mentoring students and building a strong team environment; and
WHEREAS, Lucy Anne Blesi has embodied the highest ideals of the education profession through her unwavering commitment to her students and fellow faculty members, earning the praise and admiration of all Stallions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Lucy Anne Blesi hereby be commended for being named the 2023 Fairfax County Public Schools Region 4 Outstanding Secondary School New Teacher; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Lucy Anne Blesi as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for her contributions to the Commonwealth.
