HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 428
Commending Volunteering Together for Service.
 
Agreed to by the House of Delegates, March 8, 2024
 

WHEREAS, Volunteering Together for Service, more commonly known as VT Seva, is a volunteer-driven global nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and tolerance in society by empowering youth with the values of volunteering and philanthropy; and

WHEREAS, VT Seva was established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2008 and has several locations throughout the United States, including the Commonwealth; it is the sister organization of Vikasa Tarangini (VT), which was established in India in 1992; and

WHEREAS, VT Seva's primary activities include providing education to underprivileged children and to visually challenged youth, spreading cancer awareness and supporting facilities for early detection and treatment in impoverished communities, promoting environmentally friendly attitudes and initiatives to protect the planet, and disaster relief; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of VT Seva are the result of the tireless efforts of its volunteers who make up the entirety of the organization's staff; and

WHEREAS, by striving to ensure that all children and adults in need have access to quality education and health care, VT Seva has fostered the dignity and well-being of countless individuals; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Volunteering Together for Service hereby be commended for its legacy of achievements in the pursuit of its mission; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Volunteering Together for Service as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
