Commending Marshall Jarrett.

WHEREAS, for 15 years, Marshall Jarrett worked diligently to support employees of the City of Falls Church as an appointee to the City of Falls Church Retirement Board; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jarrett is a well-established civic leader in Falls Church who previously served on the city's Board of Zoning Appeals for six years, Planning Commission for five years, and Board of Equalization for three years; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jarrett was first appointed by the Falls Church City Council to the Retirement Board in May 2006 and served in that capacity until April 2012; he was reappointed in February 2015 and served until June 2024, a total of five terms over 15 years; and

WHEREAS, as a member of the Retirement Board, Marshall Jarrett oversaw the administration of city pension plans, reviewed investment practices, and advised the Falls Church City Council on relevant matters; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jarrett earned the admiration of other city officials for his legal acumen and penchant for asking thought-provoking questions; and

WHEREAS, Marshall Jarrett worked diligently to ensure regulatory compliance while serving city employees with fairness, sincerity, and the utmost integrity; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Marshall Jarrett hereby be commended for his 15 years of service as a member of the City of Falls Church Retirement Board; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Marshall Jarrett as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for his outstanding service to the City of Falls Church.
