Commending Reaching Out Now, Inc.

WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now, Inc., is an organization based in Middletown that is dedicated to helping young people grow and thrive in their communities through various leadership, empowerment, and service initiatives; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now was established in 2008 with a mission to connect with local underserved youth and to help them develop the skills they need to be successful and impactful members of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now has touched hundreds of lives through the organization's Youth Empowered for Success Leadership Program, which counsels middle and high school students as they plan and prepare for college and their careers; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now has assisted many food insecure families over the years through its meals programs, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, and more recently the organization has begun hosting community dinners to meet the evolving needs of those it serves; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now has hosted a number of local events to bring the community together around important issues and causes, such as mental health awareness and teacher appreciation, fostering a greater sense of togetherness among all of those in attendance; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now spearheaded the transformation of the recently reopened Raymond E. Santmyers Student Union and Activity Center in Front Royal, providing a safe and supportive space for young people to engage with one another and explore their creativity; and
WHEREAS, Reaching Out Now has partnered with Warren County Public Schools and various nonprofit organizations, businesses, and local leaders to develop dynamic programs that enhance the lives of area youth; and
WHEREAS, the accomplishments of Reaching Out Now are the result of the vision and passion of the organization's leadership and the efforts of its volunteers, who strive ardently to foster the health and well-being of youth in the Shenandoah Valley; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Reaching Out Now, Inc., hereby be commended for its efforts to uplift young people and to guide them on their path toward meaningful and fulfilling lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Samantha N. Barber, founder and president of Reaching Out Now, Inc., as an expression of the House of Delegates' admiration for the organization's contributions to the Commonwealth.
