WHEREAS, Darrell Lynn Stoots, an accomplished businessman, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and treasured member of the Lebanon community, died on June 17, 2024; and

WHEREAS, born in Richlands, Darrell Stoots was affectionately known by friends and family as "Coonie," as well as "the Sign Man" to others, as he was the owner and operator of the Sign Shop of Southwest Virginia in Lebanon for 28 years; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Stoots worked tirelessly to support the needs of his customers at the Sign Shop of Southwest Virginia, helping to ensure the success of their businesses, organizations, and events; and

WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, Darrell Stoots enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at House of Prayer Church in Castlewood; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Stoots found immense joy in drag racing and working on cars, and he was happiest of all when spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Darrell Stoots will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 48 years, Deborah; his children, Adriane and Zack, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Darrell Lynn Stoots, a treasured member of the Lebanon community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Darrell Lynn Stoots as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
