WHEREAS, King L. Johnson, an honorable veteran, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and treasured member of the Hanover community, died on June 11, 2024; and
WHEREAS, for four years, King Johnson served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Air Force; and
WHEREAS, King Johnson worked tirelessly for several years for the businesses he served as a long-distance truck driver, retiring in 1992; and
WHEREAS, guided throughout his life by his faith, King Johnson enjoyed worship and fellowship with his community at St. Peter Baptist Church since 1988, where he performed with the AGAPE Singers and the male chorus; and
WHEREAS, King Johnson will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife, Sandra; his children, Carmen, Latrice, Brandi, Stefani, Kimberli, and Kenbert, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of King L. Johnson, a cherished member of the Hanover community whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of King L. Johnson as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
