Commending Veronica Del Bagno.

WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno, principal of Rolling Valley Elementary School, was named the Outstanding New Principal of Region 5 by Fairfax County Public Schools in 2024; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno joined Rolling Valley Elementary School as an assistant principal in August 2019 and was promoted to principal in July 2023; previously, she also served as an assistant principal with Alexandria City Public Schools and as a special education teacher; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno has led with compassion and dedication to help Rolling Valley Elementary School achieve its mission to raise the bar for academic achievement, close achievement gaps, and maximize individual learning; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno helps each student achieve their full academic potential while tending to their physical, social, and emotional well-being; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno's dedication to the needs of all of her students is evident in Rolling Valley Elementary School's enhanced programs for students with intellectual disabilities or autism and its Purple Star designation for honoring military-connected students and families; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno advocated for and ensured the new playground erected for Rolling Valley Elementary School is accessible for all students to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno has established strong bonds of trust and respect between herself and her staff and makes great efforts to recognize their accomplishments, bolstering their confidence and their ability to learn, grow, and succeed as educators; and
WHEREAS, Veronica Del Bagno sends a weekly newsletter to parents and staff and works in tandem with the Parent Teacher Association of Rolling Valley Elementary School because she understands the value of partnering with and proactively communicating with the Rockin' Robin community; and
WHEREAS, by guiding and inspiring her students and staff, Veronica Del Bagno has led Rolling Valley Elementary School to excellence, earning the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Veronica Del Bagno hereby be commended for being named the 2024 Outstanding New Principal of Region 5 by Fairfax County Public Schools; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Veronica Del Bagno as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for her contributions to Fairfax County and the Commonwealth.
