Celebrating the life of Grover C. Wilson, Jr.

WHEREAS, Grover C. Wilson, Jr., an honorable veteran, accomplished entrepreneur, esteemed public servant, and beloved husband, father, and member of the Orange County community, died on January 26, 2025; and
WHEREAS, born in Baltimore, Maryland, Grover Wilson moved to Orange County with his family at a young age and attended Orange County schools in his youth; and
WHEREAS, Grover Wilson joined the United States Air Force in 1960 and served his country with honor and distinction; and
WHEREAS, Grover Wilson was an enterprising and hardworking entrepreneur who found success as the founder and longtime owner of Wilson's Towing, as well as in various other ventures such as farming, logging, electrical work, and automotive repair; and
WHEREAS, Grover Wilson dedicated 18 years to the health, prosperity, and well-being of Orange County as a valued member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, beyond his businesses and public service, Grover Wilson gave generously of his time to support his community as an active member of the East Orange Ruritan Club; and
WHEREAS, Grover Wilson was a devoted family man who gave everything he had to support his wife and children in all of their endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Grover Wilson will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Linda; his children, Grover and Diane, and their families; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby note with great sadness the loss of Grover C. Wilson, Jr., a treasured member of the Orange County community whose legacy of hard work, love, and service inspired all who knew him; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Grover C. Wilson, Jr., as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his memory.
