WHEREAS, John S. Nicholls, the president of Nicholls Auction Marketing Group, Inc., who has exemplified dedication and leadership in the auction profession, was inducted into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2023; and
WHEREAS, John Nicholls, a second-generation auctioneer, has demonstrated his commitment by overseeing all day-to-day operations of Nicholls Auction Marketing Group and conducting over 350 auctions annually for esteemed Fortune 500 companies; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of John Nicholls, Nicholls Auction Marketing Group earned the prestigious Business of the Year award from the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce; and
WHEREAS, John Nicholls has served as an influential figure in the National Auctioneers Association, holding the position of past president and contributing significantly as an instructor at the World Wide College of Auctioneering; and
WHEREAS, John Nicholls is an esteemed graduate of the Certified Auctioneers Institute and has achieved designations as an accredited auctioneer of real estate and auction technology specialist; and
WHEREAS, John Nicholls has been a distinguished speaker at numerous state auctioneer associations, representing the auction profession on national platforms such as the TODAY Show and the National Association of Realtors Convention, and undertaking a real estate auction consulting trip to South Africa; and
WHEREAS, John Nicholls has garnered numerous awards and accolades, including the titles of 1994 Virginia State Champion Auctioneer, 2003 Virginia Auctioneer of the Year, 2003 World Automobile Auctioneer Champion, and inductions into both the Virginia Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2016 and the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2023; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend John S. Nicholls for his exceptional achievements, leadership, and unparalleled dedication to the auction profession on the occasion of his induction into the National Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame in 2023; and, be it
RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to John S. Nicholls as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for his legacy of outstanding contributions to the auction industry.
