Effect this measure will have on costs and revenues of state government.


This bill requires all member of the WV Legislature to be drug free to receive compensation or expense reimbursement for their service as a legislator. The bill requires that all members of the Legislature have a drug test annually by December 31st for all known illegal drugs and any legal drugs for which the member does not have a prescription. The bill also requires the cost of the drug test to be paid by each respective legislator. Therefore, there is no cost associated with the provisions of this bill to the state since the cost is paid by the members.
