Download: West_Virginia-2024-SB311-Bureau_for_Medical_Services.html
The purpose of this bill is to require the Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA), the Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) and various insurance companies to provide coverage for non-stress fetal tests, including an ultrasound. This coverage also includes tests performed remotely in a residence. There shall also be reimbursement by PEIA, BMS and the health insurer for the covered service. The Department anticipates no fiscal impact as a result of this legislation. The Bureau for Medical Services provides this coverage, with the exception of telehealth. The inclusion of telehealth does not result in a fiscal impact.
Please explain increases and decreases in personal services, current expenses, repairs and alterations, assets, other costs and revenues, including assumptions and data sources and delineation between start-up and ongoing costs. Please also include a long-range schedule of costs and revenues if fiscal impact is expected to vary in future years.
Please identify any areas of vagueness, technical defects, reasons a bill would not have a fiscal impact, and/or any special issues not captured elsewhere on this form.
