A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia,1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new article, designated §16-2A-1, relating to requiring abortions to be performed by a licensed physician.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new article, designated §16-2A-1, to read as follows:
article 2a. performance of abortions limited.
§16-2A-1. Performance of abortions by physicians.
Any abortion performed must be performed by a licensed physician in good standing in this state. Nothing in this section requires or endorses the performance of abortions.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to require that any abortion must be performed by a licensed physician.
