A BILL to repeal §23-2-1d of the Code of West Virginia,1931, as amended, relating to prime contractors’ liability for subcontractors failure to make proper payments for workers’ compensation coverage.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
ARTICLE 2. EMPLOYERS AND EMPLOYEES SUBJECT TO CHAPTER; EXTRATERRITORIAL COVERAGE.
§1. Prime contractors and subcontractors liability.
That §23-2-1d of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, is repealed.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to repeal the law which makes prime contractors liable for the failure of subcontractors to make proper payments for workers’ compensation coverage.
