(By Senators Blair (Mr. President), Azinger, Barrett, Boley, Caputo, Chapman, Clements, Deeds, Grady, Hamilton, Hunt, Jeffries, Karnes, Maroney, Martin, Maynard, Nelson, Oliverio, Phillips, Plymale, Queen, Roberts, Rucker, Smith, Stover, Stuart, Swope, Takubo, Tarr, Taylor, Weld, Woelfel, and Woodrum)

Recognizing the dedicated public service of the Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV.

Whereas, The Honorable Charles S. Trump IV was born October 3, 1960, in Winchester, Virginia, the son of C. Samuel III and Mary Lou Trump; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV earned his undergraduate degree at Princeton University and his Juris Doctor at the West Virginia University College of Law; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV began his public service as the Prosecuting Attorney of Morgan County, a position he held from 1982 to 1992; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV was elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates in 1992, where he served six terms; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV, during his tenure in the House of Delegates, served as Minority Whip of the 72nd and 73rd Legislatures and as Minority Leader of the 74th, 75th, 76th, and 77th Legislatures; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV was elected to the West Virginia Senate, where he served two and one-half terms; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV, during his tenure in the Senate, served as the Chair of Committee on the Judiciary of the 82nd, 83rd, 84th, 85th, and 86th Legislatures; and

Whereas, The Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV was elected as a Justice to the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals in 2024, and will begin his tenure on the bench in January 2025; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby recognizes the dedicated public service of the Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Senate extends its sincere appreciation and gratitude to the Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV for his dedication and commitment to serving the citizens of West Virginia; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Honorable Charles Samuel Trump IV.
