An Act

 

amending title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 15-160.03; relating to school health care services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Title 15, chapter 1, article 5, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 15-160.03, to read:

START_STATUTE15-160.03. Routine health care services; registered nurses; posting; definitions

A. If a registered nurse is employed, including employment through a third-party contractor, by a school, school district or charter school to provide routine health care services to students in a school health office, each school at which the registered nurse provides routine health care services shall prominently post on the homepage of the school's website a hyperlink to a webpage that contains a statement that a registered nurse is assigned to the school.

B. Each school that does not employ a registered nurse as described in subsection A of this section, but that provides routine health care services to students in the school's health office shall prominently post on the homepage of the school's website a hyperlink to a webpage that contains either of the following:

1. The health care credentials, if any, of each individual who provides routine health care services to students in the school's health office.

2. A statement that individuals who do not have health care credentials provide routine health care services to students in the school's health office.

C. If a school does not maintain its own website, the posting requirements prescribed in subsections A and B of this section may be satisfied by the school district or charter school that operates the school.

D. Each school that provides routine health care services to students shall prominently post in both the school's health office and, if applicable, the school's parent handbook either of the following:

1. The health care credentials, if any, of each individual who provides routine health care services to students in the school's health office.

2. A statement that individuals who do not have health care credentials provide routine health care services to students in the school's health office.

E. For the purposes of this section:

1. "Health care credentials" means a license, certificate, permit or registration to practice a health care profession under title 32.

2. "Registered nurse" means an individual who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15. END_STATUTE
