AN ACT

 

Amending title 36, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 36-113; relating to prescription medication.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 36, chapter 1, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 36-113, to read:

START_STATUTE36-113.  Prescription drugs; reimportation; website; clearinghouse

A.  The department, in consultation with the Arizona state board of pharmacy, shall establish a website to facilitate the purchase of prescription drugs by residents of this state from Canadian pharmacies through mail order and the internet.  The website shall be fully accessible to the public and shall include a list of Canadian pharmacies that have been certified as safe for prescription drug reimportation by other states.  The website shall also include a clearinghouse of information concerning the safe and legal purchase of prescription drugs from sources outside of this state.

B.  A resident of this state may purchase through mail order and the internet not more than a ninety-day supply of a prescription drug every ninety days from a Canadian pharmacy that is listed on the website established pursuant to this section. END_STATUTE
