AN ACT
Amending title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 11-269.13; relating to county boards of supervisors.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 11, chapter 2, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 11-269.13, to read:
11-269.13. Cooperating or coordinating agency; natural resources management; jurisdiction by law; special expertise
A. The board of supervisors may serve as a cooperating or coordinating agency for the purposes of natural resources management planning and any other processes under federal law.
B. This state recognizes that the board of supervisors has both of the following:
1. Jurisdiction by law to engage in natural resources management planning for lands located within the county.
2. Special expertise regarding local land use plans, the environmental, social and economic impacts of land use plans or proposals that affect the land located within the boundaries of the county and all subject matters that the board of supervisors has the authority to regulate.
