AN ACT
prescribing temporary changes to the use of carryforward monies by school districts.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. School districts; carryforward balance; suspension
Notwithstanding section 15-943.01, subsection A, Arizona Revised Statutes, for fiscal years 2010‑2011, 2011‑2012 and 2012‑2013, the governing board of a school district may budget any budget balance in the maintenance and operation section of the budget, as provided in section 15-903, Arizona Revised Statutes, from the current fiscal year for use in the maintenance and operation section of the budget in the budget year without limitation. The amount budgeted as the budget balance carryforward pursuant to this section is specifically exempt from the revenue control limit and is an increase to the general budget limit of the budget year.
Sec. 2. Retroactivity
This act is effective retroactively to from and after June 30, 2010.
