INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Audra Strickland

                        FEBRUARY 27, 2009

An act to add Section 33353.1 to the Education Code, relating to
the California Interscholastic Federation.

	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1154, as introduced, Audra Strickland. California
Interscholastic Federation: notice of sanctions.
Existing law recognizes that the California Interscholastic
Federation is a voluntary organization that consists of school and
school-related personnel with responsibility for administering
interscholastic athletic activities in secondary schools.
This bill would require the California Interscholastic Federation,
whenever it imposes a sanction on an interscholastic team of a
member school, to post online the name of the school, the team that
has been sanctioned, the violation that has occasioned the sanction,
and a description of the sanction itself.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 33353.1 is added to the Education Code, to
read:
33353.1. If the California Interscholastic Federation imposes a
sanction on an interscholastic team of a member school, it shall post
online the name of the school, the team that has been penalized, the
violation that has occasioned the sanction, and a description of the
sanction itself.
