BILL NUMBER: AB 1252 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Portantino (Coauthor: Assembly Member Huffman) FEBRUARY 27, 2009 An act relating to forestry. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 1252, as introduced, Portantino. Forestry: timber harvesting plans. Existing law requires a person conducting timber operations to prepare and submit to the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection a timber harvesting plan prepared by a registered professional forester. This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require that timber harvesting plans be made available on the Internet in a timely manner. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to require that timber harvesting plans be made available on the Internet in a timely manner.
