	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1331, as amended, Davis. Peace officers.
 Deadly weapons.
Existing law generally regulates deadly weapons. SB 1080 of the
2009-10 Regular Session, operative on January 1, 2012, reorganized
without substantive change the provisions of the Penal Code relating
to deadly weapons. SB 1115 of the 2009-10 Regular Session, operative
on January 1, 2012, makes cross-reference changes to provisions of
law that reference various deadly weapons provisions in the Penal
Code, in conformity with those reorganization and other
nonsubstantive changes to the deadly weapons provisions of law that
become operative January 1, 2012.
This bill would extend the date upon which the reorganizational
and cross-reference changes described above become operative to
January 1, 2017.
Existing law requires every uniformed peace officer to wear a
badge, nameplate, or other device which bears clearly on its face the
identification number or name of the officer.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to those
provisions.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
