CALIFORNIA LEGISLATURE— 2023–2024 REGULAR SESSION

Assembly Bill
No. 1577

Introduced by Assembly Member Low

February 17, 2023

An act to amend Section 2701 of the Business and Professions Code, relating to healing arts.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1577, as introduced, Low. Healing arts: nursing.
The Nursing Practice Act provides for the licensure and regulation of nurses by the Board of Registered Nursing within the Department of Consumer Affairs. That act defines “board” for its purposes to mean the Board of Registered Nursing and requires that any reference in state law to the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of California or the California Board of Nursing Education and Nurse Registration be construed to refer to the Board of Registered Nursing.
This bill would make nonsubstantive provisions to that definition.
Vote: MAJORITY   Appropriation: NO   Fiscal Committee: NO   Local Program: NO
