AB 2487, as introduced, Mike Fong. Public employment: climate change.

The State Civil Service Act regulates employment with the state and vests in the Department of Human Resources all powers, duties, and authority necessary to operate the state civil service system. Existing law establishes various provisions addressing the impacts and effects of climate change on the state’s communities, economy, and environment.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to prepare the state’s workforce for evolving demands in response to climate change.

Bill Text

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation to prepare the state’s workforce for evolving demands in response to climate change.
