AB 34, as introduced, Nazarian. Student financial aid: Children’s savings account program.
Under existing law, the segments of postsecondary education in this state are the University of California, the California State University, the California Community Colleges, independent institutions of higher education, and private postsecondary educational institutions.
This bill would express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would establish a universal, at-birth, and statewide 529 children’s savings account program to ensure California’s children and families foster a college-bound identity and practice education-related financial planning.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would establish a universal, at-birth, and statewide 529 children’s savings account program to ensure California’s children and families foster a college-bound identity and practice education-related financial planning.
