AB 34, as introduced, Valencia. Elections: independent redistricting commissions.
Existing law defines “independent redistricting commission” to mean a body, other than a legislative body, that is empowered to adopt the district boundaries of a legislative body. Existing law permits a local jurisdiction to establish an independent redistricting commission to change the legislative body’s district boundaries.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to establish an independent redistricting commission in the County of Orange.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to establish an independent redistricting commission in the County of Orange.
