2017–2018 REGULAR SESSION
Assembly Bill | No. 76 |
Introduced by Assembly Member Chau |
January 04, 2017 |
An act relating to marijuana.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
AB 76, as introduced, Chau.
Adult-use marijuana: marketing.
Existing law, the Control, Regulate and Tax Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA), enacted by the voters at the November 8, 2016, statewide general election, regulates the cultivation, distribution, and use of marijuana for nonmedical purposes by people 21 years of age and older. Existing law, except if for medical purposes, makes it illegal for a person under 21 years of age to possess or use marijuana and for a person to sell or transfer marijuana to a person under 21 years of age.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to introduce legislation relating to the prohibition of the marketing of adult-use marijuana to children.
