An act relating to public health.

SB 1228, as introduced, Lara. Alcohol or drug abuse recovery or treatment programs.
Existing law provides for the licensure and regulation of alcoholism or drug abuse recovery or treatment facilities serving adults by the State Department of Health Care Services, as prescribed. Existing law restricts a licensee from operating an alcoholism or drug abuse recovery or treatment facility beyond the conditions and limitations specified on the license.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to protect people from treatment fraud and patient brokering while in recovery from opioid and other substance abuse.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 It is the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation to protect people from treatment fraud and patient brokering while in recovery from opioid and other substance abuse.
