An act to amend Section 145 of the Family Code, relating to family

	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 187, as introduced, Harman. Family law.
Existing provisions governing family law define "state" to
include, a state, the District of Columbia, or a commonwealth, a
territory, or an insular possession subject to the jurisdiction of
the United States.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to that
definition.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 145 of the Family Code is amended to read:
   145. "State" means a state of the United States, the District of
Columbia, or a commonwealth, territory, or insular possession
that is subject to the jurisdiction of the United States.
