BILL NUMBER: SB 293 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Pan FEBRUARY 23, 2015 An act to amend Section 20000 of the Government Code, relating to retirement. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 293, as introduced, Pan. Public employees: retirement. Existing law, the Public Employees' Retirement Law establishes the Public Employees' Retirement System for the purpose of providing pension benefits to specified public employees. This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to the provision that names that law. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 20000 of the Government Code is amended to read: 20000. This part shall be known and may be cited as the Public Employees' Retirement Law.
