Senate Bill No. 298

February 13, 2017

An act to amend Section 405.5 of the Code of Civil Procedure, relating to civil actions.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 298, as introduced, Wieckowski. Recording notice of certain actions.
Existing law authorizes a party to an action who asserts a real property claim to record a notice of pendency of action in which that real property claim is alleged pursuant to certain procedures. Under existing law, those procedures apply to an action pending in any United States District Court in the same manner that they apply to an action pending in state court.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to the latter provision.
