BILL NUMBER: SB 317 INTRODUCED BILL TEXT INTRODUCED BY Senator Simitian FEBRUARY 25, 2009 An act to add Article 10.2.3 (commencing with Section 25214.8.25) is added to Chapter 6.5 of Division 20 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to smoke detectors. LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST SB 317, as introduced, Simitian. Smoke Detector Collection Act of 2009. Existing law generally regulates the disposal of hazardous waste by the Department of Toxic Substances Control. This bill would enact the Smoke Detector Collection Act of 2009 with nonsubstantive provisions. Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article 10.2.3 (commencing with Section 25218.8.25) is added to Chapter 6.5 of Division 20 of the Health and Safety Code, to read: Article 10.2.3. Smoke Detector Collection Act of 2009 25218.8.25. This article shall be known, and may be cited, as the Smoke Detector Collection Act of 2009.
