February 13, 2017

An act to amend Section 18931.6 of the Health and Safety Code, relating to housing.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

SB 330, as amended, Berryhill. Building permit fees: waiver.
Existing law requires each city, county, or city and county to collect a fee from any applicant for a building permit, assessed at the rate of $4 per $100,000 in valuation, as determined by the local building official, as specified.
This bill would authorize these entities to waive all building permit fees in the case of a veteran who has a service-connected disability disability, as recognized by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, and is making improvements to his or her home to accommodate that disability.
