AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING FOR THE LAKES GRANT PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the sum of six hundred forty thousand dollars be appropriated to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2014, for the purpose of funding the lakes grant program established under section 22a-339a of the general statutes. Furthermore, that section 22a-339a of the general statutes be amended to provide that such appropriation be allocated to allow for a grant to cover seventy-five per cent of the cost of conducting water quality and aquatic invasive plants studies and fifty per cent of the costs of restoration projects.
Statement of Purpose:
To assist in funding remediation efforts that improve the quality of lakes.
