AN ACT INCREASING THE FINES FOR LITTERING AND ILLEGAL DUMPING.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 22a-250 of the general statutes be amended to increase the maximum fine that may be imposed for littering and illegal dumping to one thousand dollars and that the state be allowed to retain all, or a portion of, the increased fine.
Statement of Purpose:
To improve the deterrent effect of fines with regard to persons who engage in littering and illegal dumping.
