AN ACT CONCERNING ESTABLISHING RESIDENCY FOR TENANTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2010) Occupation by a person of a dwelling unit shall be insufficient to establish residence in such unit unless (1) such person is listed as a tenant on the rental agreement for such unit, or (2) such person is a dependent of a tenant listed on the rental agreement for such unit. Any person who occupies a dwelling unit but does not establish residence in such unit shall be considered a guest of the tenant or tenants of such unit.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To limit the rights of occupants who are not listed on a rental agreement.
