AN ACT CONCERNING CONSUMER PRINT AND DIGITAL NEWSPAPER SUBSCRIPTION REFUNDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) A newspaper publisher shall issue a credit, extension or pro rata refund of the subscription or subscription price of a print or digital newspaper subscription, upon request, to a consumer who has temporarily suspended such subscription due to vacation, travel or illness.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To require a credit, extension or pro rata refund to consumers, upon request, of a subscription for a print or digital newspaper subscription, based upon a temporary suspension of such subscription due to vacation, travel or illness.
