AN ACT CONCERNING CLINICAL PEER REVIEW PERFORMED FOR PURPOSES OF A UTILIZATION REVIEW.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require any medical professional who performs a clinical peer review for purposes of a utilization review performed under title 38a of the general statutes to be licensed in the same medical specialty that manages the medical condition, procedure or treatment under review.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the clinical peer review performed for purposes of a utilization review to be licensed in the same specialty that manages the medical condition, procedure or treatment under review.
