AN ACT CONCERNING RATE APPROVALS FOR CERTAIN INDIVIDUAL HEALTH INSURANCE POLICIES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to establish procedures for a public hearing prior to any rate approval for certain individual health insurance policies, and to authorize the Healthcare Advocate or the Attorney General, or both, to be a party to such hearing.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide transparency in the rate approval process for certain individual health insurance policies.
