AN ACT ESTABLISHING A LICENSED PRACTICAL NURSE PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Education and the superintendent of the regional vocational-technical school system shall establish not later than July 1, 2010, and administer part-time licensed practical nurse programs at the regional vocational-technical schools.
Sec. 2. (Effective from passage) The sum of one million seven hundred thousand dollars is appropriated to the Department of Education, from the General Fund, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010, to establish and administer part-time licensed practical nurse programs at the regional vocational-technical schools.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections: | ||

Statement of Purpose:
To transfer funds from the General Fund to the Department of Education for the administration of licensed practical nursing programs at the regional vocational-technical schools.
