AN ACT CONCERNING PUBLIC SAFETY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. Subdivision (4) of subsection (c) of section 19a-36 of the 2016 supplement to the general statutes is repealed and the following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2016):

(4) Notwithstanding subsection (a) of this section, regulations governing the safety of public pools shall not require fences around (A) naturally formed ponds subsequently converted to public pool use, provided the converted ponds [(A)] (i) retain sloping sides common to natural ponds, and [(B)] (ii) are on property surrounded by a fence, and (B) a splash pad or spray park.

This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:

Statement of Purpose:

To not require fences around a splash pad or spray park.
