AN ACT CONCERNING THE SUSPENSION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE OPERATOR'S LICENSE FOR UNPAID OUT-OF-STATE TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS IN A STATE WITH A RECIPROCAL AGREEMENT WITH CONNECTICUT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to prohibit the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles from imposing a restoration fee or suspending the motor vehicle operator's license of any person whose privilege to operate a motor vehicle in any other state with a reciprocal agreement with Connecticut is scheduled to be suspended for unpaid traffic violations in such state if such person makes payment for such violations prior to the date of suspension.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent the suspension of a person's Connecticut driver's license and the imposition of any restoration fee after such person makes payment for traffic violations in another state with a reciprocal agreement with Connecticut.
